Africa Afcon 2013 : Nyamweya tips Stars to upstage Burundi

Football Kenya Federation, FKF is optimistic that Harambee Stars will turn the tables on Burundi and progress to next round of the African Nations Championships, CHAN qualifiers. FKF chairman Sam Nyamweya has thrown his lot with the local side saying the team’s pedigree will count when they play the visitors on Sunday in Nairobi.

“The team has prepared well and the players are thirsty for a win. We will do everything possible within our means to motivate them and we are sure of victory,” Nyamweya said at a press briefing on Thursday afternoon in Nairobi.

Burundi holds a 1-0 advantage from the first leg and Kenya needs to win Sunday’s match by atleast a two goal margin to guarantee passage to the next round.

The visiting team arrived in the country on Wednesday night and is due to hold its first training session late Thursday at the Nairobi City Stadium.

Should Harambee Stars overcome Burundi they will meet Sudan in the next round.
