AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: “No more injuries” – Konadu

According to Ghanafa.org the Assistant Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu believes the Black Stars can rule Africa but is crossing his fingers to see all his players stay fit for the finals.

Ghana will arrive in South Africa on Wednesday for the start of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in Group B.

With Isaac Vorsah, Anthony Annan, Rabiu Mohammed and Albert Adomah all returning to training after suffering various degrees of injuries during their training camp in Abu Dhabi, Konadu is expressing the hope that the entire team would remain fit.

“We are praying that we will not be having any injuries,” Maxwell Konadu said.

“We pray that nobody picks up an injury that prevents him from being part of the games. That’s our only concern. We believe that if all this boys are fit, their level of readiness is unbelievable. So we just pray that nobody picks up any serious injury.”

Having completed preparations, Konadu is very confident that Ghana, with some luck ends their long trophy drought, with the last Cup success coming in 1982.

“We believe we can do very well. Especially looking at the way the boys are responding to training. We have no doubts on our minds at all, if everything goes well and according to plan, we don’t see how the Black Stars can’t qualify from the group stages.

“We have done our part, as a team we need the entire nation and everybody to pray for this team because we know that with a little bit of luck, this team can conquer Africa.”
