Tennis: Monfils became fearful in the Australian Open

Gael Monfils qualified to the third round of the Australian Open, not without difficulty.

The former World No. 7 has struggled in five sets to get rid of the Taiwanese, Yen-Hsun Lu, 7-6 [5], 4-6, 0-6, 6-1, 8-6.

Author of 23 double-faults, the Frenchman fell back on his first serve to correct his vacuum passages with 29 aces.

After 3 h 37 min in the heat of Melbourne (the thermometer reached 40.8 °), Monfils reached the third round.

He will play the ticket for the knockout against his compatriot, Gilles Simon.
