AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: Who would be the first goal scorer?

The first day at the African Nations Cup on Saturday-19the January, 2013 began with two goalless draw results as the eagerly-awaited 29th continental tournament finally kicked off following fans yelling and supporting their fans in the cold, cloudy, wet/rainy day not letting go their various teams .

Hosts South Africa hosts and debutants Cape Verde Islands – “the new comers” settled for a 0-0 result in the opener at Soccer City in South Africa and was followed by the same result when Morocco and Angola also finished with no goals from either side.

All four teams in Groups A have one point with two mini-league rounds to go and two places in the quarter-finals up for grabs.

All team played hard but South Africa’s Bafana Bafana boys disappointed their coach, Coach Igesund who was expecting much more than what he saw yesterday and said that his boys were nervous.

One would have understood why they were nervous, would it be for the sake of not knowing how Cape Verde would play in terms of tactics or what?

The Blue Sharks were a shock to most African countries who have not seen them in action before. Now Africa and the teams participating in the 29th Continental tournament would have a real sense of humour considering there are no top guns or favourites in this year’s tournament.
