Euro 2020 Tennis: Novak Djokovic defeats David Ferrer

David Ferrer was defeated by Novak in just 89 minutes in a 6 – 2, 6 – 2, 6 – 1 advancing in his third successive Australian Open.

He seemed not give Ferrer a chance to come back from a two – set deficit as was done against Nicolas Almagro in their quarter – finals.

“I was aware of David’s qualities; I wanted to be aggressive on the court and this was definitely one of the best matches of my career”, said the 25 – year old Serbian.

Ferrer will take fourth position in the world after the tournament, but this could be due to his long – term injury to compatriot Rafa Nadal.

However, he is still behind the “fours” Roger Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, and Andy Murray. Djokovic had dominated when on serve, normally rattling between games without losing a point.

Djokovic will meet the winner of Friday’s semi – final between second seed Federer and the third seed Murray in Sunday’s final.
