AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: Group of Death – Algeria vs. Togo

After a loss in their first games, they face an uphill battle to qualify from the Group of Death. Algeria was favourites to beat Tunisia in their first game but was left stumped by Tunisia’s defence. In the end Msakni’s stunner left the Algerian fans crestfallen. This time they face Togo who put up a decent fight against Ivory Coast, if either team lose tonight, it is safe to say that their African Cup of Nations journey will end cruelly and abruptly.Togolese captain Emmanuel Adebayor was very impressive in his first game taking on defenders with the ball whenever he got the chance.

Along with him the two other exciting players to look out for from Togo are Serge Gakpe and goalscorer Jonathan Ayite whose movement and dribbling took Ivory Coast by surprise. Algeria were actually very impressive in their first game, but were defeated cruelly in the 94th minute of the game by Tunisia. The crisp passing between Sofiane Feghouli and Adlene Guedioura were always a threat to their opposition with the smart movement of Islam Slimani making it easy for them to create goal scoring opportunities for him. These three players will give Togo real troubles, but with Togo also having their three attacking players to look out for, we will have to see who trumps who tonight in this must win game.
