CAPE VERDE 2 – 1 ANGOLA. CAPE VERDE ARE THROUGH TO THE QUARTER-FINALS.

9″ +1″ Goal Héldon Ramos
CAPE VERDE SCORE!! Heldon is the hero for Cape Verde. A cross from the right is fumbled inexplicably by Lama into the path of the Maritimo striker who thrashes the ball in with his left foot from close range. The Cape Verde bench run onto the pitch. Unbelievable scenes!!
85” Yellow Card Babanco
84″ Yellow Card Gêgê
83″ Yellow Card Fernando Varela
81″ Goal Fernando Varela
CAPE VERDE EQUALISE!! Fernando Varela could just have scored the goal that sends Cape Verde into the quarter-finals. Lama flaps from a corner and Tavares’ header is cleared off the line by Dias before Gege’s rebound is turned in on the goalline by the centre-back sparking wild celebrations on the touchline. What a turnaround!

The African Cup of Nations really has come to life this evening! Cape Verde, the darkhorses of this year’s tournament will face the winner of Group B in the quarter-finals. How far can they go? Thanks for joining me, Max Bentley, on a quite astounding evening of football. Goodbye.
Angola coach Gustavo Ferrin will be furious with his goalkeeper. Two absolute howlers from Lama have gifted Cape Verde victory. The Black Antelopes are sent packing!

Football never ceases to amaze! With ten minutes to go Cape Verde were on the verge of being eliminated but two late goals has ensured their progress to the quarter-finals in their first ever appearance in the competition. What an achievement for Lucio Antunes and the Blue Sharks.
