AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: Ghana’s goalkeeper glad about his progress

Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda is happy to be making good strides with the national team at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 27 year-old was voted man-of-the-match for his remarkable saves during Ghana’s 2-0 quarter-final win over Cape Verde in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

After conceding two goals in Ghana’s opening fixture, Fatau has kept three clean sheets as the Black Stars reach the semi-finals.

“It is difficult but I am trying to do my best,” Fatau said after the game.

“We have good goalkeepers in the country both foreign and local and for the national team, it depends on the selection

“They chose me to start the tournament.”

Fatau, has started all of Ghana’s four games at the competition so far but is quick to admit that there is stiff competition for the goalkeeping position.

“I am not saying I am good than the other goalkeepers but in football, it’s about who gets selected and so I want to keep the faith of the coach,” he said.
