Euro 2020 Seria A: Barcelona’s AC Milan date could be missed by Xavi

The Spanish star was replaced late on during the 1-1 draw with Valencia, with further tests confirming he has suffered a tear of his right hamstring and will be out possibly for 15 days.

Barcelona has confirmed that Xavi will be out of action for the next two weeks with a hamstring injury, and could miss the Champions League last 16 clashes with AC Milan.

However, the Spanish international was replaced by Thiago Alcantara in second-half stoppage-time during the 1-1 draw with Valencia on Sunday, after sustaining the problem in his right leg.

Following further tests on the injury on Monday morning, the Blaugrana have confirmed via their website that he has suffered a slight tear to the muscle, and will therefore be sidelined for the next two weeks.

Xavi withdrew some days ago from Vicente Del Bosque’s Spain squad to face Uruguay this week following the injury, and he could also miss the Champions League meeting with Milan on February 20, on top of two Liga fixtures with Granada and Getafe.

The 33-year-old has made a total of 33 appearances for Barca so far this season, scoring six goals.
