AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Fatau Dauda confesses – “Kingston inspired me”

Dauda who performed marvelously at the just ended 2013 AFCON in South Africa met with the former Black Stars goalie during the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations finals on home soil where he was a substitute.

He was however inspired by the words of his predecessor Richard Kingston. He revealed this during an interview with Asempa FM saying, “He told me my time will come one day and that I should learn hard and for me that inspired me a lot.”

“He also advised me to be patient and for me I always that inspired me a lot.”

Dauda was one of the best goalkeepers of the tournament which ended last Sunday and he gives credit to the experienced Kingston.

In Ghana’s quarterfinal clash against Cape Verde, Dauda was named Man-of-the-Match for his stupendous saves.

Dauda who is a first choice goalkeeper at the 2013 Nations Cup ahead of Norway-based Adam Kwarasey is expected to help AshantiGold mount a challenge for the Ghana Premier League title.
