Euro 2020 EPL: Wenger to walk away from Arsenal

On Friday, Arsene Wenger insisted that he had not siad anything about quiting Arsenal for “one second” even though he would leave  than rather deciding on his future and asked where the media had gotten such information.

Wenger revealed that he would be happy to see his contract expire next season and was confident speaking about the crises of the club for the last 16 years. Later upon argueing about his sugestions to leave he finally said he was negotiating a new deal and admitted he was operating a “short – term plan” and has not decided on what to do until next year.

Wenger has been under pressure from what appears to be a growing number of supporters to step down, but he retains the backing of the club.

They were also comfortable yesterday with the 63-year-old’s revelation, about his contract situation, pointing out that he always waited until the final year of his deal before agreeing an extension. Wenger, however, has never left it quite as late as he plans to this time.

“I have a contract until the end of 2014 and at the moment we are on a short-term plan,” he said. “That is for two reasons: because I am here for a long time and, as well, I have to consider what I want to do. That will be decided in 2014, not before.”
