The winner is announced at the famous ceremony ASP World Surfing Awards in this Feb. 28 opening of the 2013 season on the Gold Coast in Australia.
Tahitian surfer Michel Bourez is nominated for the best wave of the year, taken from one of the ten stages of the World Championship ASP 2012.
Michel started surfing in French Polynesia at the age of 13 years. He is ASP Europe Champion in 2006.
