Africa DR Congo: Quarrel in the football championship, CAF warns for political interference!

CAF (Confederation of African Football) asked the Congolese government to stop its interference in the case of the Football League. In a letter, Hicham El Amrani, Secretary General of the continental body, asked the Congolese Prime Minister, Augustin Ponyo leave the FECOFA (Congolese Football Federation) to organize the championship without other policy interventions.

The last championship ended in a fish’s tail with a quarrel between the club TP Mazembe and Sports Minister Banza Mukalayi. The latter wanted that the championship clubs play their games on the stadiums belonging to the government.

A decision rejected by TP Mazembe, which has an 18,000-seat stadium in Lubumbashi. At the last day, Vita Club which was facing Mazembe went to the Municipal Stadium of Mazembe Lubumbashi as expected Kamlondo. Vita considered beating the Ravens on green carpet, which caused a stir at the end of the season.

The LIGAFOOT must resolve disputes before the start of the new season which is not very well structured. The crisis has already swept a desk, hence the establishment of an interim committee. For CAF, it is to let athletes resolve their problems. Possible sanctions are to be expected in case of disrespect.
