Africa Lille want Nigeria defender Taye Taiwo

Nigeria defender Taye Taiwo could reportedly make a sensational return to the French Ligue 1, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

It is believed that the representatives of Lille have already approached the leadership of AC Milan for the signature of Taiwo, who has experienced playing in the French Ligue 1 for Marseille.

AC Milan are keen on Cameroon defender Aurelien Chedjou while Lille are interested in Taye Taiwo, currently on-loan at Ukrainian Premier League side Dynamo Kyiv.

Lille approached Milan this week for Taiwo and the Rossoneri are willing to do a deal and want to push a part-exchange involving Chedjou.

To meet his market value, which is thought to be around 12 million Euros, Taiwo will be used as makeweight in the deal to land the signature of the Cameroon international.

It is however unclear whether AC Milan will want to intend to lose Taiwo to Lille with Dynamo Kyiv holding the right of first refusal to purchase the defender outright from The Red and Blacks.

Taye Taiwo has made 17 appearances in the Ukrainian Premier League and played 6 games in the Champions League for the Kiev-based side.

He is also attracting interest from clubs in Russia (Rubin Kazan), England, Portugal and Turkey.
