Africa Brazil 2014 : Zambia to play Namibia in friendly match

THE Zambia national soccer team, comprising of players based in the country, will play Namibia in an international friendly match this month as part of the teams’ preparations for two tournaments.

Nigeria’s 2014 World Cup opponent Namibia will take on the Chipolopolo of Zambia in an international friendly game as they continue to prepare for their home clash against the Super Eagles in Winhoeck, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Namibia Football Association Vice President, Kapenda Cornelius revealed that they have already agreed the date with Zambia for the game to be played on May 24.

“Yes, we will be playing against Zambia in Windhoek on May 24 as the team continue to prepare for the COSAFA tournament and our World Cup qualifiers in June as well,” Cornelius tells a local website sun.com.na.

Nigeria currently lead Group F with a superior goal difference as they are tied on 5 points with Malawi.

Namibia are placed third with with three points two points one ahead of bottom placed Kenya.

Meanwhile, Swaziland have lined up a friendly match against another Eagles foe,the Flames of Malawi.

Even though details on the fixture are still scanty, reports suggest the two countries are locked in negotiations over a possible friendly match before the end of the month.
