Africa Transfert : Kolo Touré on its way to Liverpool!

Liverpool is expected to confirm the free signing of Manchester City defender Kolo Toure in the next 24 hours. The Ivorian centre-back will complete a switch to Anfield having grown frustrated by his lack of opportunities at the Etihad Stadium.
En.africatopsports understand Liverpool is on the verge of signing Kolo Toure on a free transfer from Manchester City.

According to british medias last week, Liverpool boss  Brenda Rodgers had expressed his wishes to get Brendan Rodgers to boost his team.

Toure is out of contract at City this summer and is not expected to be offered a new deal.

The Ivorian player found himself down the pecking order at City this season after making just 18 appearances and they are willing to let him move on.

Talks are thought to be at an advanced stage between Liverpool and Toure, and the move has taken a step closer now the centre-half has returned from City’s post-season tour of America.

Liverpool are believed to be ready to offer Toure a two-year deal as they look to make the defender their first signing of the summer.

Rodgers is thought to see Toure as an ideal replacement for Jamie Carragher following his retirement and believes the Ivory Coast international’s experience will prove valuable to his squad at Anfield.

As En.africatopsports has revealed last month, Monaco was keeping an eye on Kolo Touré.
