Murielle1Big sensation at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. Murielle Ahouré finished the women’s 100m final in the second place synonymous with a silver medal. After an exceptional race held masterfully by the Jamaican Shelly Ann Fraser.

In lane 5, Ahouré did not make the best start of her career but recovered well in the final straight. Overtaken by the American Carmelita Jeter (lane 2) and the English Gardner (lane 1), the Ivorian made a crazy last 40m to beat on the line Jeter who finished third in 10’94.

Ahouré second finishes in 10’93 so much better than in the semifinals. Untouchable, Fraser flew the race with a time of 10’71.

Unfortunately, the Nigerian Blessing Okagbare fails far from the podium in 6th place in 11’04.
