athletics England: Samantha’s hopes delayed

semanthaSamantha Murray an English modern pentathlete who has her hopes of winning her first individual world title has been delayed by a typhoon in chinese Taipei Preston-born Murray sits on top of the leaderboard after the fencing and swimming sections of the competition. But  worsening weather conditions have forced the postponement of the remaining elements until Saturday.
London Olympic silver medallist Murray, 23, holds a 48-point advantage over Elodie Clouvel of France after winning  21 of her 34 fencing bouts and following up with the best swimming time of the day.
 She won the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She won the bronze medal at the 2012 World Championship
