The Ghanaian international Sulley Muntari believe the current Milan squad will lift this season’s Serie A trophy. The Milan midfielder believe the mixing of youth and the experience players in the Rossoneri camp has boost the team and therefore will be difficult to beat. According to Muntari,the team is focused and every match will be taken serious, what happened last seaseon is past so they are rather focused on what is ahead of them. “This is the way it works at Milan, you forget about last year and get down to focusing on this year. We have to do well this year and I believe that we can. With the players here we will do well because we have a great group of players, he told Milan Channel. The way we go about our business is important. We also have Robinho and then we have the younger players who will learn very quickly. This is very important.” Milan will face Torino on Saturday evening as they look to build up from their first win of the season against Cagliari in Week Two.
“We will have a very interesting season ahead of us. It is very important for us,” added Muntari. “We have to stay fit. We have players away on international duty so they have to stay in shape. We will have a full squad when they return to get back to league action. However, the match at Torino will be a difficult one. It may be difficult but we cannot have any excuses about going there and not winning and taking home the three points.”
Muntari believe the presence of top players like Nigel De Jong,Cristian Abbiati,Philippe Mexes, Antonio Nocerino and the others is enough to lift this year’s trophy. AC Milan were third on the Serie A table last season.
