The Ivorian government has backed its football authorities to put in a bid to host  the 2019 or 2021 African Cup of Nations. The Ivorian last hosted the African cup of nations in 1984 and made a bid to host the 2006 event but the political turmoil  in the country at that time denied them the opportunity as Egypt won the bid.

The Ivorian government has given the Football Federation the go-ahead to submit the candidancy as the country starts creating conditions and atmosphere that will let CAF give them the opportunity.
