images (1)Great clash of the World’s stars this Sunday at the Great North Run. The British famous half marathon race managed to gather Kenenisa Bekele, Mo Farah and Haile Gebrselassie. Three champions and holders of the last five Olympic titles of 10,000.

Bekele further back in recent months due to an injury nonetheless confirmed that he was still a great runner. He dominated the race in 1 hour and 8 seconds. Thanks to a last acceleration placed at 1km from the finish. Double world reigning champion in 5000 and 10,000, the British Somali Mo Farah has tried in vain to catch up with the Ethiopian. He comes second in 1 hour 10 seconds while the veteran Haile Gebrselassie, who plans for a conversion into politics, closes the podium in 1h41s.

In women, it is the Kenyan Priscah Jeptoo who won in 65mn 45s before the two Ethiopians, Meseret Defar 66mn in 07 second ahead of Tirunesh Dibaba (66mn 45).
