Besides the favorites for the 23th edition of the Women Afrobasket , Angola (defending champion) and Senegal (record holder with 10 titles), Mali can be placed within the outsiders .

Bronze medalist in 2011, Mali is going to Maputo (September 20 to 29) with the aim to raise higher on the podium after 2007. But this will require a good start in group matches.

After a break size during the Francophone Games whereby Mali has finished fifth, Jose Ruiz released his list of the twelve players selected for Afrobasket 2013.
