kwesiappiahGhana Coach James Kwesi Appiah is set to be considering a handing re-calls to former national team captain John Mensah and veteran gaolkeeper Richard Kingson.
According to reports in the Ghanaian media, Mensah, who is currently clubless, is being closely being monitored by coach Kwesi Appiah and his technical team and is seen as a short term solution to the recent problems in the Black Stars’ central defence. It is also believed that former Blackpool goalkeeper Richard Kingson is under consideration due to concerns over Fatau Dauda’s relative inactivity at club level and the fact that Kingson himself has returned to competitive club action after 18 months out.
Both players represented Ghana at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups and reportedly very close to securing places in Ghana’s squad for the final World Cup qualifier against the Pharaohs of Egypt with the head coach set to announce his squad soon.
