Egypt’s training camp ahead of their clash with Ghana in the 2014 World Cup playoffs is in disarray after Al Ahly withdrew all their 11 players from the squad. The decision has left American coach Bob Bradley with just 14 players in camp which is making training difficult. Eleven Ahly players left Egypt camp ahead of anticipated CAF Champions League semis against Cameroon’s Coton Sports Saturday.

The Pharaohs opened an early camp on Thursday for the first leg of the playoff clash hoping to give them an edge over the Black Stars. However the exercise has turned out to be a nightmare with few players in camp which resulted in the decision to call up for more players on Sunday. Mahmoud Alaa, Ahmed Tawfik, Mohamed Abdel-Fattah ‘Taha’ and Ahmed Samir – were called to the Pharaohs camp on Sunday ahead of the first-leg of the final qualifier for the tournament in Brazil.

The quartet will join the 33 players American manager Bob Bradley’s named for the match to be played in Kumasi.

Under Bradley’s leadership, the Egyptian national team’s technical staff summoned the quartet from their original clubs: Haras Al-Hodoud, Zamalek, Wadi Degla and Al-Dakhleya, respectively. Egypt, the winners of seven Africa Cup of Nations, are competing for their first qualification ticket to the most prestigious football tournament since 1990.
