Africa Ghana: Ben Fokuo threatens to quit national team

hhNational U-20 women’s team Coach Ben Fokuo may quit the national team due to nonpayment by the Ghana Football Association, Ghana Sports has gathered. Ben Fokuo confided in Ghana Sports’ source that the GFA has not paid most of the women’s coaches any dime.
Ben Fokuo replaced his former boss Robert Sackey, who led the Black Princesses to last year’s Women’s World Cup in Japan. The team was knocked out in the first round after failing to score a goal  at the tourney. Fokuo is said to have expressed surprise and displeasure at what he describes as a rejection by the GFA especially after not receiving any payment as national team coach.
Ben Fokuo was left out the 25 shortlist for the vacant positions of head coach for seven national teams a season ago.
