Africa Zambia U-20 beat Namibia

Zambia-U20-Girls-300Zambia Under-20 women’s football team coach Charles Bwale says he is happy with the cohesion within the team following the 1 – 0 win over Namibia in the 2014 Canada World Cup preliminary round first-leg qualification match played at Nujoma Stadium on Saturday.

Lwendo Chisamu’s 20th minute goal was enough to give Zambia the advantage of an away goal before the return leg which will be played on 10th November.

“We played well although we could have scored more goals but we wasted a lot of chances. I am happy with the cohesion in the team after spending three 3 weeks in camp. The team has blended well. On the other hand Namibia is not a push over; they gave us a good challenge. We must continue working hard to do well in the return leg,” said Bwale.

Meanwhile the Under-17 women’s team entered camp on 19th October in preparation for the 2014 Costa Rica U-17 Women FIFA World Cup second round first leg qualification match against their South African counterparts on November 3.

The U-17 team defeated Botswana 8-3 on aggregate to set up a date with South Africa.
