Africa CAF mourns South Africa’s Legend Mr. Andries Maseko

670066_341493Messages of condolences continue to flock in for the late Andries “Six Mabone” Maseko.

After President Jacob Zouma of South Africa and President Danny Jordaan of the South African Football Association, it is now the anticipated turn of CAF’s Secretary General Hicham El Amrani on behalf of President Issah Hayatou and his Executive Committee members to send condolences for the passing on of the South African Legend Mr. Andries Maseko.

“It is with great sadness and sorrow that we knew about the passing of the South African Legend, Mr. Andries Maseko,” said CAF in a letter signed by the Secretary General Hicham El Amrani.

“On behalf of CAF President, Mr. Issa HAYATOU and on behalf of the CAF Executive Committee members, we would like to convey to the South African football family our deepest condolences for this great loss. Mr. Andries Maseko was known as one of the most talented players in Africa and a role model, please extend our condolences to Mr. Andries’ family and friends, may God give them strength in these sad days.”

Maseko, a former Moroka Swallows player, passed away last week (Saturday, 26 October 2013).

He was laid to rest this past weekend (Sunday, 03 November).
