Football Premier League: Chamakh grabs Crystal Palace’s third win of the season

Crystal-Palace-v-West-Ham-Marouane-Chamakh-ce_3045914Crystal Place earned three additional points in Premier League with their Tuesday’s 1-0 win over West Ham at Selhurst Park.
In a match that was the first home game in charge for Coach Tony Pulis, the Eagles tried hard to overwhelm their capital rival and a renewed hope in their efforts to preserve their top flight status. The decisive moment in a hard-fought contest arrived three minutes before the interval when Barry Bannan swung over a cross from the right and Marouane Chamakh was left all alone six yards out to glance past Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Cameron Jerome and Jimmy Kebe spurned glorious opportunities to double Palace’s advantage in the second half, but the Hammers were unable to make them pay and remain precariously perched just three points above the drop zone.
