Football Tottenham: Second chance for Emmanuel Adebayor!

Emmanuel-Adebayor-007When the misfortune of some make the happiness of others! The adage is what it is, life is like that. The dismissal of Andre Villas Boas Monday after a debacle at home to Liverpool (5-0) should turn to the advantage of Emmanuel Adebayor. The Togolese striker has the opportunity to reconnect with lawns as of this Wednesday.

Emmanuel Adebayor has not really been in action since the beginning of the season. The former Gunner has played only 45 minutes with a very bitter taste. Tottenham had lost that day 6-0 against Manchester City. Since then, the striker was again relegated by his manager Andre Villas- Boas, with whom relations were strained over weeks especially after the difficult period of the death of his brother last summer. “I did not have the support I deserved from Tottenham. It is the physio who told me to go and train with the youngsters and not the coach himself. It is a lack of respect from Tottenham. But I’m a footballer and I have to do what my club or my boss asks me to do,” said the player last November.

A new start against West Ham?

Arrived at Tottenham on loan in 2011, Adebayor has satisfied his fans under Harry Redknapp scoring 18 goals throughout the season. But the following year in a permanent transfer, the Togolese scores only 5 goals and lost the confidence of his coach. The Andre Villas -Boas policy does not help him. Gareth Bale party, the Portuguese coach invested nearly 100 million Euros on the market for 7 players including Spaniard Roberto Soldado intended to replace Adebayor. Following is less rosy: only 4 goals, including three through penalty spots for the former Real Madrid player.

Despite much speculation about his future, Emmanuel Adebayor should have a new chance to shine as of this Wednesday. Tottenham host West Ham in League Cup and the former Monaco, recovering from a knee injury, is in the group. The new manager Tim Sherwood wants to bring new life into a team in decline.
