Football Egwuekwe: We will bounce back

6ea98fc37e6dcc5f18dd6d02be9a8256Africa Top Sports reported Saturday that Nigeria, initially billed as the biggest favorite for the 2014 African Nations Championship, have suffered a humiliating 1-2 loss Saturday in their opener against Mali.

The second Super Eagles member to promise a recovery during their next group stage fixtures after Coach Stephen Keshi, is center-back Azubuike Agwuekwe.

The home-base Eagle firstly admitted an underperformance of his side on Saturday before ensuring that they will go all out to secure victory during their two remaining group stage clashes.

“We didn’t play well at all today and we all know it, but we have decided that we will come back stronger and better,” said Egwuekwe, who was unfortunate to have Sissoko’s shot deflect off him for the Malian’s opening goal.

He finally calls Nigerians to offer them another opportunity as it is not over until the fat lady sings.

“I plead with Nigerians to give us another opportunity,” he added.

Nigeria will take on Mozambique in the next day.
