Priscah-Jeptoo-kenyaKenyan Priscah Jeptoo, winner in New York, will defend her title at the London Marathon on 13 April.

The silver medalist at the last Olympics hopes to beat her personal record: “I ran my personal best time last year and I won the race. But the main challenge for me now is to successfully defend the title and if it comes with another fastest time, it will be a bonus, ” Ms. Jeptoo told Xinhua Wednesday at Kapsabet.

The native of Nandi (Kenya ) knows that the task will not be easy because she is set to face renowned competitors ” Running in London is not easy. All other athletes come with the goal of winning and they are all high rank athletes. So it will be difficult, but I hope that I will bear this pressure and reign to the end,” she added.

A distance of 42 kilometers will be crossed by athletes including the Olympic and World champion and others.
