Brazil 2014 World Cup 2014/Ghana: a $ 9 million budget for the Black Stars

Black-stars-1“The cabinet has approved the release of 10.5 million Ghanaian Cedis to the Ghana Football Association to finance the participation of Ghana in the group stage of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. An additional $ 14,177,025 Cedis was also expected to cover the expenses of the team when they qualify for the later stages of the competition.”

This is what announces the Ghanaian government on Monday. They also declared being ready to pay up to 24,677,025 Cedis (about 9 million Euros) to support the Black Stars in Brazil next June.

The preparations of the Black Stars for Brazil is also underway. Asamoah Gyan and his teammates will be in the same group as Portugal, Germany and the USA. For this, their first course is scheduled on May 31 in Rotterdam with a friendly match against the Netherlands.

Ghana has been impressive during the last two appearances at the World Cup with a historical quarter final in 2010.
