Football Nigeria: Taiwo pessimistic about his participation in the World Cup

taye_taiwo_tax_evasionTaye Taiwo does not have shambles. The Nigerian defender who is now evolving in the Turkish team Bursaspor, knows that it will be difficult to be in the group of the Super Eagles to the World Cup.

The former Marseille has not worn the green tunic of Nigeria for over two years. The player said he was aware that he will be surprised if Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi includes him in the group to play World Cup Brazil 2014 in June.

With his 54 selections with the Super Eagles, the former AC Milan winger, knows he is no longer part of the plans of Keshi.

“I participated in the 2010 World Cup, but this year it will be difficult for me to be part of the group. I was absent from the selection for two years so I am more pessimistic than optimistic,” he says. “Without me, Nigeria won the African Cup in 2013 and qualified for the 2014 World Cup, so logically my chances are very slim.”
