Football London Marathon: Victory and record for Kenyan Kipsang, Mo Farah 8th!

628x471Wilson Kipsang is the star of the day. Not only the Kenyan won the London Marathon this Sunday but he also broke the record for the event by winning in 2h 04mn 28s.

He beat his compatriot Stanley Biwott. Tsegaye Kebede of Ethiopia finished third in this race. Much anticipated, the Columbia Mo Farah was not too disappointed. Although he finished 8th in 2h 08mn 21s, the world champion of 5000 and 10,000 m, he was in his first marathon. A few weeks ago, he finished the half marathon in New York in the hospital.

In women, it is also a Kenyan double with Edna Kiplagat on top of the podium while the 3rd place returned the Ethiopian Tirunesh Dibaba.
