Asia Friendly: Japan beat Costa Rica

Jpa-costaJapan, opponent of Côte d’Ivoire continues its preparation for the Brazilian World Cup that starts in a few days. In a friendly match played Monday in Tampa in the United States, the Japanese beat Costa Rica 3-1.

It is the Costa Ricans who have yet opened the scoring in the 31st minute by Bryan Ruiz. But at the return from the break, the Japanese equalized at the time mark through Yasuhito Endo. Shinji Kagawa doubles up in the 80th minute before Yoichiro Kakitani drives the nail in stoppage time.

Japan is in Group C along with Côte d’Ivoire, Greece and Colombia whereas Costa Ricans find themselves in Pool D with England, Italy and Uruguay.
