Africa Charles Akonnor : Biography

Charles Kwablan Akonnor is a Ghanaian former international footballer born on March 12, 1974 in Accra, the capital town of Ghana. He is as tall as 1.82 m.
He has played as a versatile midfielder, mostly in Germany. Akonnor is the head coach of Glo Premier League club Hearts of Oak.
Footballer career :
He started in Ashanti Gold in Ghana before going abroad. His first destination was Germany.
He started his first professional career with the team of SC Fortuna Cologne.
Earlier, he was admired by many clubs but the Ghanaian midfielder decided to go for Wolfsburg also in Germany from 1998 to 2003. He did not happen to be really imperative like an agitator. Therefore, the player decided to join then Unterhaching. After his journey to Denmark in the club of AC Horsens, he went to Cyprus and went back to Germany.
Coaching career :
After having hung up the spikes, the native of Accra decided to yield all that he learned on the field to players in the making. He became the coach of Sekondi Wise Fighters in Ghana from February 2009 to March 2012. He has been transferred to the mythical club of Hearts of Oak also in Ghana.
In the national team :
Charles Akonnor played only 18 matches with the Black Stars of Ghana and scored 4 goals.
Charles Akonnor is nominated the 2012 worst African coach in the 2012 Africa Top Awards.
