The English cyclist Bradley Wiggins has been nominated Sports Personality of the Year at a ceremony organized by the BBC.
Wiggings had a memorable 2012 with a victory in the Tour de France and was crowned Olympic champion against the clock.
It is the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and superstar David Beckham who gave him his prize.
The rider from Sky beat the heptathlete Jessica Ennis, Olympic champion in London, and the tennis player Andy Murray, who won a gold medal in this year’s Olympic Games and in his first tournament of the great Chelem, the U.S. Open.
More than 1.5 million people participated in the vote.
