Newcastle United has completed the signing of France international fullback Mathieu Debuchy.

Debuchy, 27, joins the Magpies from Lille for an undisclosed fee, understood to be in the region of £5million ($7.7 million).

He has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract.

Debuchy, who has 12 senior international caps, will wear the No.26 shirt for Newcastel United, but he will not be included in the squad for the club’s FA Cup third-round tie against Brighton and Hove Albion.
