AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: “Do or Die for Eagles” – Okonkwo

Super Eagles defender, Chibuzor Okonwko, has warned his national teammates who will be out against Cape Verde in a friendly game today not to take the match as a do-or-die affair. In this interview with Bamidele Boluwaji, Okonkwo insists the team is strong enough to excel at the Africa cup of nations holding in South Africa

In few days time, the Africa Cup of Nations will kick off in South Africa, what are your expectations from this particular edition?

My expectation is very high just like every other Nigerian who wants to see how the Super Eagles will perform at the tournament. This particular edition is going to be special for us because we were not at the last edition. So my expectation is very high.

The coach has explained that and I still have that sense of belonging in the team. Definitely, I will miss the tournament because it is the dream of every player to play at the Nations Cup but with the way things are now, I just have to accept it and pray that God helps me to be part of the 2014 World Cup.
