Algeria Wheelchair Basketball : Algeria aims for the African championship

The Algerian team of wheelchair basketball in U23 has just finished a training camp in the for the African Championship. The competition is scheduled for April in South Africa.

“This contact which is in continuation of our work has enabled us to assess the current form of the players, give them medical athlete’s tests, and explain the policy advocated by the FAH work,” said Mohamed said Kisrane, coach of the team.

“The actual preset headcount for several years is the new generation of players ranging in age between 16 and 22 years. This is part of the policy of rejuvenating the national team. In this context, the Federation forced clubs to U 20 in the championship early in the previous Olympic cycle. From there, we could preselect some of them to be registered in EN U 23, “said the national coach.

“We would have liked to make players get a maximum tournaments that allow them each time to learn and improve, because they are young and need more competition to develop, improve cohesion and controls on the ground and gain confidence in their abilities, “says Kisrane.
