Africa Tennis: Bright Start by the Nigerians

Nigeria team at the West and Central Africa junior tennis tournament holing in Togo, Benin Republic have made a good started. Ten out of eleven starlets slugging it out at the tournament won their opening matches with Rotimi Adetunji the only player that lost the opening encounter.

Ubale Mohammed Coach of the team, who spoke from Togo said, the players could still qualify for the knock out stage after Wednesday’s hostilities and result compilation. “Nigeria has started on bright note. Ten out of our eleven players in the championship won their matches yesterday, only Adetunji Rotimi failed to win. Moreover, the player is playing round robin and still likely to qualify for the knock out stage after the series”.

 Ubale said Joseph who is on scholarship in the International Tennis Federation training centre in South Africa was seeded number one in the boy’s singles and got a bye to automatically qualify to play in the second round.
