athletics Athletics : “The key is picking the right people from Kenya”

Recently a bill was passed on by Kenyans parliament to enhance and encourage sports in the country.

The chairman of Athletics Kenya, Isaiah Kiplagat has welcomed the passing of the Sports Bill by Parliament on Wednesday but has cautioned that if not well implemented Kenyans might not benefit from it.

Speaking to the Daily Nation Sports Desk, Kiplagat said that those who would be mandated with the task of overseeing its implementation might want to use it to settle some scores with the current officials of different federations.

“Generally the bill is going to help scale the heights of different sporting activities in the country only if its going to be well implemented according to its intended purpose,” said Kiplagat.

This bill is expected to promote sports in Kenya and in the bill, a tribunal known as Sports Disputes Tribunal will be established. The tribunal in essence takes over most of the roles of the KNSC.
