The last coronation for the Nigerian team in Afcon goes as far back as to the Tunisian campaign in 1994. The then captain of the team was the current coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi.
Housed in group C, the Super Eagles fly to start their third continental title (editor’s note, the first trophy was won in 1980) on January 21 against the Stallions of Burkina Faso.
