Football Premier League : Swansea pull off another coup

During this transfer period, observers could notice that Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup is a mover and shaker in transfer markets and according to Sky Sports this window will be no different.

The reaction to Laudrup finding Michu has been so positive you would be forgiven for thinking the manager was about to have a national holiday named after him and he is not resting on his laurels. Laudrup has just netted Belgian international Roland Lamah on loan from La Liga strugglers Osasuna.

The deal is initially an 18 month loan, yet there is a view to a permanent deal and given the dire state of the club from Pamplona this could well be at a bargain price. Osasuna sit rock bottom of La Liga and have been woeful this term. It is no wonder then that the 25-year-old was desperate to leave El Sadar.

He claimed: “I know a few of the players here, and I already know that Swansea is a family club that will suit my style of play. To play in the Premier League is a dream, and also to play under Michael Laudrup is fantastic for me.”

The club were also gushing in their comments about the versatile player who can operate on either wing, with Jacks chairman Huw Jenkins stating: “We’ve been watching him for a while. Michael has been looking to strengthen the wide positions to create more competition and we are delighted everything has been agreed.”

The Swans are enjoying a fantastic season and play Arsenal tomorrow in an FA Cup third round replay, having beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge by an impressive 2-0 score line in the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg last week.
