Interviews Rally : The three women are still improving in Dakar

Laia Sanz 34th, Josefina Gardulski 133rd in motorcycle and Carmelia Liparoti 14th in quad are still in the race at the end of the seventh stage at Dakar.
Headed off carefully in the first step in which she finished 74th, the Spaniard continued since to improve her ranking.
Taking a seat at each stage between 30 and 50, she rises inexorably in the overall standings: 48th after the second step and then successively 43rd, 40th, 36th, 33rd, to occupy the 34th place two days before the day of rest in San Miguel de Tucuman Sunday

Sandblasted at the sixtieth kilometer of the sixth stage, she said at Bivouac in Calama
“I stayed a little covered by sand through the rear wheel. I should not cause many problems but at that time there was Joan Barreda passing by, who proposed to help me. I shook my head in disagreement” Laia still laughing, “A top rider has to continue his race no matter what the case. I was able to leave quickly. It was not bad”

Her only female challenger, the Chilean Josefina Gardulski, does well during her first participation in the race. She finished 156th after the first step, she occupied the 133rd place in Salta. She is too far from the leader but also from Laia Sanz.

Regarding Camelia Liparoti, on her 5th participation, she aims for doing better than the previous years. She is 14th in Salta but the finish line is still far.

“The quad is my life. Finally, i know that in the small family of quad riders, everybody calls me to take advice. And it is also because we share a lot that we can exist” said Camelia.
