AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: 21st place for Uganda in Fifa ranking for Africa

Uganda won the 13th record Cecafa title last month which helped the country move three places up to the 81st position in the latest Fifa rankings.

Uganda tallied 435 points after beating Kenya 2-1 in the final of the East and central Africa regional showpiece, the oldest football tournament on the continent at Namboole stadium on December 8.

They are in the 21st position among the most ranked African countries.

They lie behind Angola (19th) and Senegal (20th), their opponents in their 2014 World Cup qualifying group.

However, Uganda is ahead of South Africa, the Afcon 2013 hosts for this year. South Africa climbed two places to 85th in the world.

They remain the most ranked country in the region so far.

Sudan comes close with 361 points in the 100th position

Burundi is in the 104th position.

This improvement seals the fact that the Cranes were the best side after they took the journalists’ vote for the USPA award for the month of December.
