AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: Gyan heeds mother’s “penalty” advice

During the Afcon 2013, Asamoah Gyan wouldn’t be participating any penalty regular play for Ghana after his mother asked him not to – two weeks before she kicked the bucket.

The Ghana captain said he would take his late mother’s advice into the tournament in South Africa after causing recent misses for his team that he conceded on Wednesday had left him “psychologically down” and forced him to take a break from international football.

Asamoah “Baby Jet” said he would definitely heed to his mother’s advice before participating in the tournament which comes up in South Africa.

However, Asamoah Gyan who recently caused misses for his team that he conceded on Wednesday has left him to be “psychologically down” and made him take a break.

“I lost my mum recently and the one thing she said two weeks before she died, she emphasized, was these penalty kicks,” Gyan said on Ghana’s arrival for the tournament.

“I have to respect her decision for me not taking penalties for the team.” Gyan’s mother died in November after a car accident in Ghana.
