AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: No injuries on DR Congo

DR Congo squad there is no reports of any injuries on any of the players, and most of the attention has focused on speculation that Coach Claude LeRoy had either quit or been sacked.

Sports ministry which is the country’s federation insists the former Ghana coach remains in charge. The Black Stars squad is also believed to be at full-strength.

Ghana has enjoyed a productive pre-tournament spell, with 3-0 and 4-2 wins over Egypt and Tunisia respectively.

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan:

“Congo has qualified for the Nations Cup so that shows how good they are.”

 “We’ll also do our homework and make sure we come out very strong because it’s going to be a good game.”

 “When we win our first game it’s a very good start for the team.”

Omari Selemani, president of DR Congo’s Football Federation:

 “Claude [LeRoy] is still the coach and will be in the dugout against Ghana.”

 

“I had a working meeting with Claude this afternoon [Friday] and everything is fine. I also met with the players and there is no problem.”
