AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: Bravery urged by Igesund

Following the poor performance of the Bafana Bafana against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde, Coach Igesund has urged the Bafana Bafana boys to be brave in their second 2013 African Cup of Nations in Group A, a match to be held against Angola.

Igesund was unhappy at the draw played between his team and the Cape Verdeans and hope they struggle this time around to create opportunities.

The South African Coach who earlier admitted his boys were nervous and this has put a lot of pressure on him since the country and fans expect much more from him and his players.

“We didn’t miss chances against Cape Verde, we didn’t create enough chances. We didn’t have that creativity in the midfield, we have to look at that and fix it right away.

“We have two games left, starting with Angola, and we need to win them now. We have put ourselves under pressure. We need to rectify the mistakes we made against Cape Verde and I think we can do that.” Igesund said.

Much like the Bafana Bafana coach, Gustavo Ferrin, Coach of the Palancas Negras, was upset with his team’s 0-0 draw in their opening Group A match against Morocco and felt his side wasted too many decent opportunities for goals.

“We were not really tested in defence against Morocco,”

“Our team played in accordance with situation we were facing against Morocco. We had many things in our favour, we had chances to score, but we did not take them.

Now, we have to recover, we must improve and do better in the next match against South Africa.” Gustavo Ferrin said

However much would be expected from Angola’s captain and Real Valladolid striker, Manucho, who missed a number of scoring opportunities in his side’s first game.

If South Africa does not keep watch, he might break into South Africa’s defense which looks weak at times.
