AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: Insight of the 2nd match- Algeria vs. Togo

The 2nd match of Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations 2013 Group D matches in Rustenburg sees Algeria and Togo bid to bounce back from late disappointment in their opening games of the tournament.

Tonight it is the last chance to qualify from the groups for the two teams; both Togo and Algeria need 3 points to hope for one of the two positions that lead to the knick out stages. It can be said that Togo has more chances if they will get the 3 points, can qualify with a good result in the last game against the Tunisians.

On Tuesday, Algeria was sunk by late Tunisia winner in this stadium and now faces an uphill battle to reach the quarter finals. It’s a similar story for Togo who lost 2-1 to Ivory Coast with another late goal denying them what would have been a surprise point.

Perhaps if a draw happens to come in the match between Ivory Coast and Tunisia game, it would open things up a bit for either of these two sides but if this game finishes game fails to produce a winner, the hopes of both these nations will be hanging by a thread.

I am counting on an open game in this meeting, Algeria has missed a lot of opportunities the first match with Tunisia and will ask the 3 points, with a slight advantage in this meeting. They have players that can make the difference at any time, let us not forget that the attacker is Adebayor, one of the best strikers in England but also offensive system used by Frenchman Didier Six with 3 forwards. Algeria has had bad luck in the first game but with a win today more can hope for. They have more valuable players such as Mesbah or Feghouli.
